I do "One Take Drum Covers" of Songs that have iconic drum beats.

Hey drummers and people who like drums! Watch as I record drum covers in only one take without any post-production editing, quantizing, or locking to click tracks. (Mostly because I can't be bothered doing things twice or wasting time editing.) I drum purely for the joy of drumming. I've played in many bands over the years. I grew up in the 80s listening to classic rock and prog, and learned to play the drums. In November 2023, I started the @snare.hihat.bassdrum YouTube channel to share my journey getting back into drums and everything to do with drums. I'm more about capturing the feel of a song and finding the drum pocket. There will be a couple of mistakes here and there, but I'm just going to keep going and try again on the next one. Wish me luck!

I grew up in the Canadian prairies in the 80s listening to Van Halen, Iron Maiden, and Rush. Back then, there was fierce loyalty and pride associated with the band T-shirts you wore in public. Meanwhile, I was learning to play the drums, and I tuned into the likes of Lars, Charlie Benante, Dave Weckyl, Jeff Porcaro, and Jack DeJohnette trying to expand my drumming horizons.

After high school, I played over 2000 gigs across Canada and the United States, opening for bands of all sizes. Fast forward to 2024, my wife and I became empty nesters with some free time on my hands. That's when I decided to get back into drumming, and started the @snare.hihat.bassdrum YouTube channel.

I don't claim to be perfect and you will hear some mistakes here and there. This is live raw videos of me drumming to my favorite songs, some will be better than others, If I can just capture the pocket and get the feel, even briefly I call it a win. Theres no better feeling than sitting in a drum pocket and everything hits.
